Looks like its climbing up Black rock on the Heads of Valleys road.

i wouldnt like to say the location but its a carline trailer and the
man at the helm is mark?he went from clissold to stiller carline,
as im aware he is shunting at Tredeger for owens these days…

Neils right it is Black Rock, a long hard pull up to the highest point in Beaufort, hampered by the roundabout in Brynmawr.

I can vaguely remember the old black rock road,now that was a hell of a pull.when I was a kid one of j&m’s 88’s had a very nasty accident on that road, the driver was killed and his wife and three kids jumped clear, that was near govilion I think?
Chris 143 I was sorry to hear about jimmy the rat passing away,small coal rang me this morning.jimmy and my old man worked together at joint in the 60’s.

Hi Andrew
These 2 are running for the same company in this photo - Johnsons Coal, but i remember when Raymond Anthony ran out of the side of his house in Cwmgors. He always ran tidy vehicles, at the same time as this Seddon Atki he ran an 8 wheeler with a 180 Gardner and I also remember an Atki that he had hauling bar out of LLanelli. I used to drive a loader in a coal washery in Brynamman and loaded this vehicle many times when Geraint was its driver.
