hi mrken,
yes that foden has a very solid/restorable cab.the only other foden of that type i have ever seen in preservation, was black and owned by elstran freighter’s from east london?i think?i am sorry,i wouldn’t know the history behind the h. lewis scania, thanks for your comments.
regards andrew
Pete that was a s41 aircraft refuller which when i got had a extra low diff in it we got a diff from a breaker in luton from a ex london brick lorry every thing was super heavy duty on it and had windows in the cab roof but esso had it rust proofed and it wasnt to bad with the help of a rewire a sheet rack of a crusader from rush green and a ERFmw sunvisor it started to take shape it had maxeright brakes and lots of safty features as well as 1300X20 tyres went it went for testing it just about went in the rollers but passed ok it was so high geard that when i took it to crick it was puring at 65 mph on the m1 with a 20’ box on funny old truck one of the only ones i done what i didnt like the s41 had a longer nose than the one in the picture
when i learn how to pst pictures on here easy i will put some up of it
Mr Ken, the silver Scania wasn’t from Dennis Oates, it was new to another Cornish firm of Christopher Miners of Porthleven near Helston.
We bought it in 1994 as the second owner.
