Blue line had drivers based all over ,burford was 2 drivers John on nights and the day driver ,hay on Wye and Leominster

Hello smallcoal if you are referring to John Hawson on nights I think he lived in Wooton Basset he used to run down to Tondu bring a few loaded from the Abbey back to the yard and then back home in time for his dayman real gent he was . cheers Ian .

Hello Marktaff,Jones transport were a regular subbie and the photo was taken at British Tissues hanger 2 Llandow.
There was always various firms backloading like Bartrums and Smith of Madiston always had a few flats lined up.
They had a shunter based in Newport David? and i believe he became Carline,s trainer?

Evening Ian, i remember coming off the old severn bridge early 80,s about 4.30am nodding in the passenger seat and Rooker past us like we were going backwards.
Beep of the horn,flash of the lights and soon out of sight.Those ERF,S as you would know were good for 85mph plus.
When Rockwool went on strike some were taking ford parts to Halewood and the other half went to Westbury on cement,always seemed plenty of work about.
