Just looked in the SC4 programme listings and I’m glad to see it has subtitles!

Hi Pete,
You don’t have to be from the midlands to need the subtitles .

HI all. Andrew that’s a blast from the past. Iirc R Lewis had a coal round in the Pengam area. They ran a few Iveco Daily vans and flatbeds as well. They were on the Pengam to Nelson rd in Hengoed and later moved to an industrial estate near Penallta colliery. I used to run into them heading to London or back home regularly. At that time I had a B reg petrol Transit with an over drive box which believe it or not went well, even with 1700kgs on its back and towing a trailer with close to 2000kgs on it. We had a C reg 3510 Daily non turbo similar to Lewis’s and a D reg 3510 turbo which was a flying machine. The Transit was a lot more comfortable than the Iveco’s.
The new style transits came in around then and I think they had the direct injection lump which was also a flyer. Myself I would of gone for the diesel Transit. The Transits were just more fun to drive, and could take some stick too!

Regards Paul.

Looking forward to the 1st instalment of the Mansel Davies & Son t.v. programme on S4C shortly.

Great to see that Picture of Kaye Mansel Davies (son of the founder) looking so well in the picture a few posts back he is now 80.

Any questions on the translation on the back of the new £5 notes will be answered…

Enjoy it all that are going to watch.

I have just watched it on catch up,with the subtitles!, I found it to be a great program 100% better than that made for telly stobart stuff, 300 people they employ never realised they that big. Spotted an S J Bargh motor when they filming in that yard in Acton, wonder if it was Wrighty?

Pete,

Enjoyed it also, think it will get a lot better over the 6 part series to be honest. They are a rather large Business between the Haulage & Storage, Main Volvo truck and Bus Dealers and they have a brand new H.G.V. Ministry testing station on another site!

roll on next week.

Yes Billy drove for my grandfather for many years.

HI all. Andrew, were all three Scania’s Rob Canns, can’t quite make it out in the photos? He was down to one when I knew him.
Jason, nice line up there, perhaps a little before your time but those motors used to pick up at our place in Tredregar, Powerfab Excavators usually crated machines being dropped off at John Evans Newport or similar companies for groupage trailers for export.

Regards Paul.

Hi all,
A couple here courtesy of M4 Dogwalker.

Same motor, photographs taken just under 4 years apart and that Transcon is still looking tidy!
