Hiya,
Thanks, yes I’ll bet that would be fun on a cold frosty morning the trailer boy
and me pulling on the rope to get her going at one place I worked there was
still one old Leyland with the starting handle but fortunately I never got to
drive it, even at my age just about everything I drove had a self-starter, I in
my time did drive a couple of oldies that looked to have been originally had
the brute strength starting gear but all being re-engined before I got em’.
thanks harry, long retired.

Andrew I can’t help looking at the old R plate Merc. It takes me back to 1988 / 1990 when Holman’s from Exeter had a fair few of them with a little batch based on Cardiff Docks also in that murky green colour. Obviously theirs were all right hand drives.

Hi ade,
That ng merc of Dominic nemby’s is a rare thing to see in the uk.alot of the ng and sk’s went overseas to carry on working.i remember holman’s very well,a mate of mine from north Devon drove for them.they also ran bonneted mercs.we also had this unusual f10 on the run at the weekend.owned by the proudlock family since 1995.rare factory rigid.

Hi all.
, Andrew great photo’s, looks as if you had a good time in and out of your truck.
Thanks for posting them.
We are all ok thanks, but a sad day for so many people. The city of Orlando and Central Florida and all its residents are in deep shock.
I was typing a reply Tuesday night, I saw Ade was on line and a thunder storm knocked my computer out.
Apolagies for the delay in replying.

I remember those Mercs, I believe they brought Holsten Pills (bottles)to the South Wales breweries. They ran wood out of Cardiff on flat bed trailers.

Regards,
Paul, Sherry and Rhiann.
