Hello Dai jones cracking photo of 93 ewn.thanks dai dad had a few of these also AEC, DODGE + COMMER that I can remember, think there was over 20 lorries there in the late 60’s
One of those Dodges had a Leyland Comet engine and went like the wind . I think the wife of one of the brothers whether it was John or Donald worked in the offices at Alcoa .
I seem to remember them doing the odd load out of Pressed cold at Jersey Marine . nice to see the Joint Motorway pics Dai , have you by any chance a Guy J unit ? regards Keith
Yes Kieth you are right that Leyland did go like the wind until the engine fell out and the driver ran over it (they said that the engine was to narrow for the chassis). The brothers names were Benny and Donald John was their father, Donald (my father) used to do all the work while benny talked a good job. Donald meet his wife (my mother) at Alcoa, they were married for just over 25 years before mum passed away with cancer, we lost Dad 7 years ago this year.regards David Jones

No i didnt do anything out of Alcoa , but you know it was one of those freindly places that every body knew one another , and worked together , i visited the works on a number of occasions , with a mate whoat the time drove for the works own fleet . Did you Charlie haul stuff out . regards Keith .
