Hi all,
Courtesy of m4 dogwalker, hicks of newport :sunglasses: .

Hicks back then hauled tomatoes from Roden nurseries near Shrewsbury, as well as for Big Batteries at Rassau Ebbw Vale . regards kk

hi kk,
Thanks for the info.tbh I had forgotten hicks had fridges.they used to do alot of steel, didn’t they all…back then!!!

Hi Andrew, Hicks also did a lot from “The Alcan” at Rogerstone when I did .We were in good company as several others spring to mind - E.C.Ward from Monmouth, Claytons (Kelvedon) from Rhiwderin , Alte Express did a lot of export and there was an O/D from Newport - Barry Thompson? I think IIRC he also ran a Pub. A lot of the Scottish traffic went by Freightliner to the railhead in Cardiff. Hope this evokes some memmories as the old grey cells are deteriorating rapidly!! Best regards- Noel
