Hi all,
Fabre prest in the late 90’s tipping abbey coil at ford houses Wolverhampton.
Evening Andrew, that looks like Perrys, in Strawberry Lane, Willenhall, to me. Used to be the domain of Shorthouse Brothers. …But on reflection…could be WES at Fordhouses…
Bit of Trivia…former owner shot his girlfriend/partner, right on to one of my fields, did`nt half cause a commotion, then he shot himself, very, very sad, pleasant chap, rode one of those Harley Davidson Japanese copies.
Who says life in the country is peacefull!!!
Lovely shot of WG Davies Foden S21s, gosh, when I was given a S21 to drive I thought that I had really arrived, such a high powered lorry…150 Gardner!! B…y warm cab when you got to Brindisi!!!
Nice fellow used to tip for WG, in the Black Country, had one of their Crusaders, David (■■?) Leddington, went out by himself with a 32ton Seddon,(Rolls)■■ Nice shade of blue!
Thanks for the memory stimulation.
Cheerio for now,
His name was John Leddington “Saviem”,great chap,he got me a couple of drivers from Dudley when we doubled shifted an “A” Series from there !! He had a coil trailer (AHP) IIRC and kept both unit and trailer in pristine condition !! Cheers Bewick.

Thanks Dennis, yes I remember the AHP, Tony Phillips could build a really good coiler…he should with his M&G experience!! Last trailer he built for me was a tri axle drawbar wedge plant trailer to go behind a FL10 320 plant bodied 6x2 with a PM 44tonne metre for a little job I had in the 90s. Not high on, (modern expectations) of power, but a lovely well balanced outfit.
Thinking back to John Leddington, (apart from the odd word, or wave on the road I did not know him), but he had that Seddon from either Chris Kelly, or Howard Davies at Rylands Dudley. But I remember how well he kept John and Vivian Davies`s Crusader. It shone, even in a wet Black Country!!! There used to be so many South Wales motors in the Black Country then!!
Happy memories, Cheerio for now.

Afternoon Gentlemen, daibootsy, that is a lovely image, thank you. Those Crusaders certainly looked, and sounded the business, and in a lovely livery. Makes you want to jump straight behind the wheel does it not! Thank you. Cheerio for now.
