hi lads,
thanks to neil for posting the video and thanks for the kind comments.smallcoal, the filming in the link is a part of the video for the 2011 steel boys run to gaydon in support of help for heroe’s.trucknet member steelboyf10 is the main man behind all of this, the 2011 video is "convoy"with a twist :wink:the footage shown will be used where the real film convoy starts with the mack in arizona chasing the “gal” in the e type jag.steelboyf10 arranged a proffesional production company to carry out all the filming.our plan was for them to come to me on tuesday morning and film on the m4,but tuesday was a bad day for road travel in south wales so we met up elswhere.
regards andrew.

Hi Harry, you were a very lucky chap to be able to pick and choose the dole from a little Scanny. I wasn’t I had a mortgage, wife and kids, bills blah blah then I seen my decent wages and conditions. Thank you little Scania! thats wHat its all about I own a lush 141 now but still won’t have a bad word said about 80 +81’s regards Rowland. p.s. 80 81 forever

hiya,
Rowland if you had come off a 220 ■■■■■■■ engined Atki onto a Scania 80 it was like going from a powerhouse to a s***house obviously only my opinion and as for drawing the dole I have never drawn a penny in my life I just served my notice and had a job on a brand new Atki to start on the Sunday and the smile returned to my face this time only a 180 Gardner engined job but I could pass those little Scanny’s as if they was parked up now the 110s which I did a trip in was a different kettle of fish and would have gladly parted company with the Atki to drive one of those full time.
thanks harry long retired.

Heres a link to a video of a certain Welsh Peterbilt out cruising during a recording for the Convoy themed 2011 Steelboys run video. Who is going to be first to identify the area it was filmed? [clue: its not Arizona]

Volume is required for best effect.
Neil.

Just brilliant, looks as if Andrew is having a good time there. Well done to all involved.
Neil, for some reason it looks as if Butetown is in the video, if so it is shot on the heads of the valley between Rhymney and Tredegar, around Tafarnaubach. Doesn’t look like the Bridgend area, but I may well be wrong.

Regards Paul

hiya,
No more “digs” good buddy just a matter of opinion, ah where F10s and F12s about at the time the 80s was ■■, I’m fairly certain you’d have preferred to grab the handlebars of either of those two Volvo’s if you’d have been given the choice in those days, and by the way you have said the magic formula F88 I too have driven those in sleeper form which was never used as a cab hotel and a day cab which suited my needs being a digs man, anyway Rowland can I shake your hand, I surrender,by the way the 80 I drove was a 1965 job and actually developed three problems on the first trip which I fixed myself all being “spanner” jobs fuel and bits coming loose the guvnor of the workshops did thank me for not having to phone for assistance I was down along the South coast at the time, no I couldn’t escape from that heap fast enough I would have stayed on had I been able to have the old 220 ■■■■■■■ back, but it was designated for pastures anew so i moved on too.
thanks harry long retired.

Spot on Paul, top marks, I thought Butetowns distinct old style street of houses may give it away. The irony of the area you used to live in masquerading as the country you live in now.

Who is taking the coils from Port Talbot now ? I haven’t seen any for a long time . Harsco has gone so who are doing them it can’ be all on the train ! Tony
