I cant think of anything, My boss was gonna buy me one to drive, told him if he did, I’m off!

What makes any truck marque “special”? . . .did he and did you?
At risk of sounding a bit pedantic , what is it with all this “oo i aint driving that” melarky.
Must admit to never driving one but if i was offered a job doing so and the wages were ok, i wouldnt have a problem .

Build quality helps! And driver comfort.
Never lowered my self to drive one, but sat in one once.

True story,

I was asked to help with a marketing campaign for a new Foden, which would have had a 15.2 litre Cat under an XF95 cabshell.

I had an idea involving a Lancaster bomber for the customer launch.

Sadly, it never happened, but it might have been a nice truck if it had.

Half of them comenting on Fodens have never driven one as for the I wouldnt touch one with a barge pole types Aye right I have never in my 40 odd years seen one off these guys walk off because of the make of vehicle. An S39a with the 180 Gardner & 12speed box could leave any of the oposition standing and their reliability was second to none. Eddie.

Drove for T Baden Hardstaff in the 90’s. Nearly all Foden 8 leggers and artics. Very rarely broke down and well looked after there. Had one of the last 4000 series units with a cat eng and 16sp box. Cracking motor and would out pull the 400 actros my mate used to gloat about
