So sneaky they even posted it on twitter!
Adonis.:
And out come the holier than thou brigade who have never ever, in the history of ever gone over the speed limit.
A.
Is it just me that imagines a lot of truck net posters wear beige cardigans, slacks and have grey comb overs? I also picture quiet a few as avid daily mail readers.
I prefer to sit at a speed that is suitable for the road, that may be higher or lower than the posted speed limit due to a number of factors. Sitting there staring at the speedo just in case it creeps above the speed specified by the road traffic act (not a law) and a revenue generating camera funded by the taxpayers takes my photo and sends me a demand for money.

Wont generate any revenue if you stick to at or below the limit.
Speeding and then ■■■■■■■■ about cameras being nothing but revenue raisers is a bit like poking a bear with a stick then whinging that it bit your arm off.
90 on a motorway or 70 on a DC is probably perfectly safe but the law is what it is. If you want to speed im not getting in an argument with you about the rights and wrongs of it but dont blame cameras as money makers. Theyd make hee-haw if no one was speeding
I’m not ■■■■■■■■ about speed cameras, the fact is that they’re not there for safety, they’re there to generate revenue.
If speed limit enforcement was safety related then a loaded lorry would have a lower limit than an empty one, a Porsche with Carlos Fandango carbon fibre brakes would legally be able to go faster than a Fiesta.

I hear what youre saying and youre right, the placement of some of them does scream money maker. Theres a road near the Asda near me. Its two lanes either side and very, very easy to get sucked into a 40 or 50mph speed but the limit is 30 because of the fact houses are going to get built on the other side. Its been landmarked for houses for the last 9 years and not a things been done and its all waste ground but the cops are sometimes there with their camera catching speeders and doing 50 on this road is perfectly safe. There’s no need for the cops to be there catching speeders as there could be much better use of their time in other areas but this one catches the most. Its blatantly obvious what the agenda is but as I said, they’d not make a penny if people stuck to the speed limit. Yes, the limit can be frustrating at 3am when the roads quiet but it doesnt change anything. The laws the law. Rather than complain about them and how much money they make, some people (and Im not meaning you, just in general) seem oblivious to the fact that so many people ignore the limit and
They could openly admit its pure revenue making and hee haw to do with safety and it still wouldnt bother me because they wont get a penny from me
I do stick to the speed limit, my opinion of them doesn’t change the fact that if I’m caught exceeding them, I will get fined and points on my license.

Oh christ almighty. The never do wrongs will be out in force later in the day. They’ll be sitting down to their wholemeal toast and orange juice, then becoming totally enraged that with your post. “Well that serves you right. 46 in fog? I’d lock you up and throw away the key. You could have wiped out an entire family. Think about the children”
Lucky you getting the course though. Saves the points!

Oldest boy racer in a 44T artic in UK!!!
I got nabbed a couple of months ago. Dry and clear day. Long straight, no traffic. Boom. 57 on a Scottish A road. 3 points, 100 quid and a stern letter from the commissioner. Absolute ■■■■■■■ joke.
It is as it is. Obey the speed limits or ignore them. If you get caught it’s your own silly fault. If you cause an accident breaking the speed limit you are more than silly, you are a dangerous person.
happysack:
Only driving gods in England can do 50. In Scotland you are classed as a sub standard driver and limited to 40. Also no speed awareness courses up here. United kingdom? Nah the Scottish ■■■■ party put pay to that.

If speeding and you know it then you accept the punishment without question as you chose to do itIf speeding and do not know it then that’s worse because not only speeding but also not paying attention
Why does it matter when or where any camera are unless you are trying to get away with breaking the law
But people get caught out, lost, unfamiliar area, dodgy sat nav giving the wrong speed limit info.
There is going over the limit then there is speeding. All this speeding bull [zb] applied to hgv’s doing 40 on A roads till one day it got upped to 50! It’s all politics not safety

Well you have forgotten the A9 “concession experiment”. God that would be a nightmare at 40 (65kph)!

Lucky you’re in England. The Scots are so … tight they don’t have them up here!

Depressing if true.
