Smoking in vehicles is expensive

I am speaking in the previous, because I now live in Lincolnshire.

Is that how they talk in Lincolnshire then? :stuck_out_tongue:

Thankyou.

Maybe you can only hear it in the past?

If you come from Lincolnshire, isn’t that another language anyway or is it an ancient version of previous? Is that what the vikings used to speak also?

It is not up to VOSA, it’s an offence under the Health & Safety at work act so is enforced by the Environmental Health Dept / Officers of the Local Authority. It is not a criminal offence but it is a civil offence

Good i hope they nick everyone who smokes in company vehicles.

I’m sick to the back teeth of having to clean the grime off the insides of the windows every time i use one after them, and spend ten minutes cleaning the steering wheel with wet wipes so my hands stay clean don’t stink foully, and generally fumigating the truck after someone has filled the cab with noxious fumes.

After some of the dirty sods you need to wear your rigger gloves and overalls whilst inside the cab and take 'em off when you exit.

Those who smoke wouldn’t know they stink, they do, as their sense of smell has been destroyed by smoking.

I thankyou, boom tish.

and harry will give you the low down on smoking in your cab, because i can’t be assed

I dont reckon, although im not a solicitor t, that this argument would work, as unless, you drive the truck, you can maintain the truck, and mot test the truck and seal the tachograph, someone else would have to use the vehicle and therefore you would be smoking in there place of work, so pls post this black and white from vosa proof.

Which as VOSA do not police the smoking ban isn’t worth the paper it may or may not be written on.

A lot of talk about nothing really!

No one will enforce it unless someone makes a complaint, i.e. weekend/night driver complains to boss man or owner and then boss man/owner tells the smoker to stop it! or what could happen is the weekend/night driver can take the smoker to court themselves. There are no ā€˜Smoking in the workplace enforcement officers’

But its more fun chucking ronnie the rulebook about and coming up with all the random acts of whats right and wrong and I’ve got it in black and white etc

I’m sure one driver smoking in the cab must be a huge health risk to the residents of Wolverhampton

:grimacing:

The place is full of East Europeans and I thought they all smoked anyway!

The women do…they smoke the beef for 20 bucks a pop!!! So I’ve heard :sunglasses:

I would imagine that in this case putting Horse Radish on the ā€˜beef’ is somewhat more dangerous to health than putting that little rubber thingy on… Allegedly!

i smoke in the cab, anyones cab, cos i want to, but what annoys me is the smelly spray things that go off every 15 minutes or so, that fresh air freaks have managed to put in their trucks, now that is more detrimental to my health than smoking, thats without mentioning the tree smellys that swing about in front of your face on every movement, i`ve thrown loads of them out of the window, along with my butts, which is also illegal, i just like playing with fire

I think in the original post, it says that the driver was caught lighting up, so it was a snooper who likes looking through van/car windows.
