They still have 6-7 drawbars left, but the trailers are too long for the job apparently…
Did John KInder work at Silentnight? Worked for John when he was a OD in Tarmac. Then he bought a Brand New FH Volvo tractor unit putting it to work for T&j Haulage. His wagons do Sweetdreams beds now out of Nelson i think? The wagons where serviced by Mark Hemingway I think.

John never worked for silentnight, he ended up taking over sweet dreams from Alf Whiting, but packed the truck side in 2 years ago because of poor rates, but still does express deliveries in a transit. His 2 sons are driving now, Dan has 2 of his own and Richard is driving freelance.
That dodge was Clive Mcmillan’s, it was replaced by a daf 2500 in 1988/9.
You probably don’t remember me, but I remember “Track Three+One”!

Sorry, I got the wrong bloke, exsilentnight will know what I mean!
Hi Chris, nice to hear from you, yea I remember us all going to Blackpool, we had some great times in those days… Are you into /driving trucks etc being on this site !! By the way , you remember my son John who was 16 and playing in our band, well he has his own Rock n Roll band now, lives in Doncaster , 48 years old and he is lead vocalist / guitar, they are damned good, semi professional , called Memphis Jacks …
Does anybody have any photos of older Silentnight Beds trucks, from before the blue and white pyjama look?
They used to be white/pink/grey or white and pale blue before that.
Thanks.
Chris.
Hi
Is this what you mean? A Dodge drawbar
Sorry about the poor scan
I have a number of others if you let me know the make of wagon you are interested in
Yeah, they are the era, from late 70’s to mid 90’s when the changed to dark blue. Our family has run attics and drawbars in their colours, but we have no photos of them.
Cheers.
Chris
