Or you go to overtake them on the motorway, and then they find the “match overtaking vehicles speed and don’t let them past” button :unamused:

they’re the worst!!

what about the ones that brake whenever another vehicle passes

Quite often they are of Asian origin too

i think i’ve reversed the trend here . i’ve got a 3.5litre v6 under the bonnet and i like to use it’s potential , so i get the younger drivers making strange signs at me and mouthing " mad bugger " at me . i don’t give a sod , if they don’t like the heat stay out of the kitchen . btw i’m 74 years old . dave

Do some of you realise that when you get ‘head shaked at’ by someone who has caught you up further down the road, they are probably just thinking in a smug fashion “that overtake wasn’t really worth it was it?”.

And they would be right to think that.

Anyway, thats my albion1971 moment for the weekend.

But some people shouldn’t be on the road. Too many times I’ve encountered elderly people who are nothing but a hazard.

True, but who’s going to tell them to stop driving, or take their licence away? Not an easy thing for the family to do, as it can cause an awful lot of upset…

Not long ago I was talking to a mate his son happens to be a copper ( ok I know ) traffic at that he seen an elderly gentleman driving he was the 1 that did go to his house & take his licence off him & car keys also had car removed as well as informing DVSA so it does happen might be be enough times

My friends father had alzheimer’s, the poor bugger couldn’t remember that his licence had been revoked. They lived on a farm with a lot of the family (and cars), so a car would would sometimes go missing, followed by a call from the village shop come and get him.

And before you say it, it’s difficult to keep an eye on your keys all day, when you’ve got some devious bugger always on the lookout to ■■■■■■ em. Thankfully they didn’t have a tractor, as otherwise he’d have been out there making a key with a bent nail

My mam has alzheimer’s not nice or easy but she decided to give up driving which think we were all pleased about didn’t renew licence gave up her car etc

I was definitely shaking my head yesterday. Out on my bike, :imp: :imp: on a narrow lane with a 7.5t limit I watched a loaded 6axle artic cross a bridge with a 2.5t limit posted on it. I know there are no warnings before meeting the bridge but the signs are in place on the bridge and there is a turn off to avoid crossing right next to the bridge.
In a way the driver was very lucky, another route the pratnav shows is down a 6’6" width marked lane, if he had taken that and got round the first of the “S” bends he would never have got out. By the way, the Ind. Estate he was heading for is right on a motorway junction. Regards Kevmac 47.

There are plenty of arctics that go along Sunderland Rd not far from where we both live the prat nav will take you along to get onto industrial est 1 has a weak bridge on 7.5t limit or local bus the other a bit further along has a low bridge 10’ & narrow road even though they are off a By pass ( heading along towards Gateshead Stadium ) often see johnny foreigner making the mistake have seen others mind especially car transporters yep I have stopped & directed round
