Seriously p****d off

Again- thx for your replies. Final note: I was out with the company assessor earlier this week and surprise, surprise, I was loaded when I arrived at 0700, we left the yard at 0730, completed the drops by 1200 and I did a second run in the afternoon + collections for a 5.30 pm finish. Assessor gave me top marks for driving, unloading, customer relations, route planning etc so I (and they) know I can do the job. The problem is that the loading/planning is left in the hands of the fork-lift drivers at the depot and there is no method to their madness. Shortest runs seem to get loaded first rather than the longest runs and they play favourites whilst the poor bloody newcomers are left twiddling their thumbs :unamused:

Anyway - off now for 2 weeks to chill out (btw - holiday to Italy was booked many months ago when I was flush - next year will be a damp weekend in a caravan at this rate)

Buy a crate of beers for the FLT drivers and thank them for making a newbie feel welcome. Beer bribery always works and your truck will be first loaded every day!

Enjoy your holiday. Not jealous much…

i started in january.

mate im on the same as you £ wise you have to softley softley catch the monkey.allways take the attitude that they need you more as after 6 months you can work virtually any where i have another company offerd me full time work but the firm im with wants to keep me so now i work for one first part of the week then the other the end off the week. go freelance you can get as ltd co £10 ph then £12 overtime after 8 hours. if i was you stay another 2 months so you have 6 months exsperince and tell them you have a better offer, more pay better hours dont say where though. find a agency they pay well and get you inn the job that suits.

pallet multidrop is pony but nothing is as bad as parmer and horay. this is the worst hgv job ever i really dont know how they keep there staff.

im booking my ce soon bun this multidrop bull i want to ride the elephant all day. any thing over 5 drops a day and ive got the hump

good luck

You’re not up North, so can’t see how you are earning so little as well.

His pay seems on the low side, but Norfolk, especially North Norfolk isn’t known as a high wage area, not around in terms of high paying jobs and not just in haulage.

But saying that this company sounds like the type who have a high driver turn over and take new drivers as they can’t get experienced drivers.

Keep working towards your C+E far more choice in Norfolk for artic drivers as every farmer seems runs a couple of them  and not only on agricultural work, plus loads more run out of Felixstowe.

C+E is the way forward. I have nothing else to say :stuck_out_tongue:
