WBIS. I bow to your superior knowledge of all things spanish, usually. But solomillo refers to fillet, either beef or pork. Stick it into google mate.
I agree what it means but ask for solomillo in a restaurant and it will be pork, no chance of such a nice cut of beef here unless willing to pay more for bull t-bone mmmm speciality in a nice restaurant near me 800g too
Had a day trip to Gibraltar on a coach for the shopping at the beginning of Dec (10€, bargain, get your money back on one carton O’ ■■■■!). Had a chat with a couple of Continenetal Express drivers queueing up to unload behind Morrisons. The shop itself was packed. That wasn’t for me tho’, that was for the women. We went off in search of breakfast…and there was a first for me…Full English with a Guinness! My mate asked for a Tetleys with his breakfast and I thought he was being good asking for top notch tea…then a beer arrived! doh! Later we were successful in finding a small bar that served us up 2 G&T’s for 2.60€, I said to the Barman “No 2 G&T’s”, he said “That is for 2!” Once back at Morrisons for the coach, we had some time to kill, my mate was made up that the Morrisons cafe served G&T’s like the best of Bars. “Now THIS is shopping mate, the women dashing up and down the aisles and us supping quietly, watching them!”
One thing I have noticed, more people now speak Spanish as a working language than English…that included the “Brits” that live/work there compared to 25+ years ago. Only time will tell…
Gazzer, if your suggesting that gib may be slowly turning spanish, think again. I reckon you would struggle to get 1% to vote in favour of spanish sovereignty.
What did you think of the new airport, quite impressive isn’t it. Next big job is there building a new power station.
Unless there is a radical change in attitudes in Gib it wont even in the distant future become part of Spain again.
English is the official language of Gibraltar, however and I know not the reason why, pretty much everyone speaks Spanish on a day to day basis - many speaking both languages in the same sentence.
There is also another local language called Llanito (pronounced yanito) which is a mixture of amongst others, Morroccon Arabic, Andalus Spanish, Maltese, Hebrew and English.

That must be the Argentinian then.

the argentinian near tivoli is the biggest mixed grill i’ve ever had i nearly couldn’t finish it, nearly
I think the new terminal was a hanger that last time I really looked ExHaulier!
Its strange to see a “white” lad speaking local Spanish (almost Andalus) and then switching to Geordie in an instant! I too doubt any change in ownership but now Caruana has gone, what mettle has the new lot got? Hombre agrees with me in the sheer amount of people (Officials, Coppers, Council workers) “chatting” in Spanish.
The reformed Carrefour at Los Patios now keeps huge uncut T-Bones on a daily basis. 13€ summat a kilo if you want to do your Gorblimey Ramsey stuff yourself!

and as an added bonus spend over a certain amount and get 8c a litre off fuel, so 2 or 3 decent size steaks and save a fair bit on a full tank of gasoil
Sod that, if i go to a resturant i want somebody to do the cooking for me. T bone is rubbish anyway, you should always go for sirloin. Best place i know is opposite the supermarket at Sotogrande. Place called La Reunion, if your passing that way at lunchtime it’s well worth a stop.
Gazzer, the new terminal opened about 2 weeks ago. It’s pretty hard to miss as you come through the border. Have to say it’s pretty impressive compared to the old one which always reminded me of an old UK transport cafe.
Talking of that part of the world, what ever happened to the presenter on Spectrum FM ,Maurice Bolan who according to CDS news had a lot of allegations against him from young girls ?.

The new terminal has only half opened, or not depending on the outcome of the current debate over escalating costs. At present the new terminal is open for Arrivals only, departures are still from the old terminal. When ypu cross the border by car or on foot it certainly looks open, but when you cross via the TIR park you can immediately see that the thing is still a long way from being anywhere near finished - builders are crawling all over the place.
Impressive it may be, but why such a large building for a couple of flights a day?
I have got 2 trucks tipping hanging Lamb in Zaragoza and La Coruna on boxing day. Both reloading oranges from Valencia. 7 drivers away for Christmas in total.
