Thats been my problem “curnock” sitting at traffic lights all day, could’nt tell when they turned green, always knew i should never have become a driver.

She’s got a Cardiff reg Harry.I remember seeing some BRS 8-legger tippers in that grey colour,somewhere round the Northwich area.

Hello,I still think the ERF is green,all I can say is the pic is from a Commercial Motor that was from the early 70’s…things do deteriorate and I too can see the grey in the lorry…I have seen grey coloured BRS tippers,perhaps I should go to Specsavers :laughing: :laughing:

Chris wonder had they anything to with the limestone haulage into the South Wales steel works or the bodies being a bit on “lofty side” could have carried scrap, but only guessing.

the quality street aec in regent st almost looks like a painting and the erf looks a bit aqua marine to me just to confuse matters, bubbleman is there no end to your pics and cuttings lets hope it carries on for a lot more pages. fred m

hi bubbs, thanks for that posting that Vaux’s trancon on the north east truck page, drivers CB handle was BIG T, his regular run was to Germany every week, used to see him every Monday heading down the A1, then M62 for hull,back in the 50ty-60tys vaux ran a fleet of commer TS3 6 wheelers on the sunderland to edinburgh tip & load at usher’s brewery ,funny thing they never use the A1 after morpeth, always A697 . its amazing what you pull out of the hat mate, keeps the old memory ticking over, keep them coming bubbs :slight_smile: :slight_smile: :slight_smile: bumper

A face from the past in the RR advert there, I knew him many years ago and remember him getting that shiny new Foden. His christian name is Keith and I wonder if he is still around. Regards to all, Haddy, Gt.Yarmouth.

Two BRS ERFs here Harry,the book says they were in grey livery and BRS Mid-Cheshire Group,IIRC they were on an ICI contract.

I reckon the 8 wheeler is still green, along with the Land Rover and the sign pointing the way to the post office

I always enjoy your posts Bubbs, but the addition of the Commercial Motor Road Tests is a real treat. I recently suggested to CM that they reprint some
of the old tests within the magazine, but as yet, other than asking for opinions, they’ve not followed it up (unless somethings happened while i’m away).
If you have any more, please share them with us. It may even justify a new thread.
