I don’t know if it is there Ramone, but you’re probably thinking of Filtrona on Bedesway in Jarrow IIRC? used to load out of there for their place at Treviso or that area anyway

Never seen one of those, looks a bit like a Seddon cab.

It does doesn’t it, like a cross between the Seddon 13/4 & the old model Hino front panel.

Thanks thats exactly where im thinking of i used to load groupage for Hauser from there.It looks like the door we used to drive through to load inside and drive out the other end

i seen quite a few of them over the years similar number, but the best one was when i was coming down A1 from newcastle i seen a black scania coming alongside me flashing his lights when he passed he had SJA 737X the guy pulled into layby at scotch corner he was an owner driver from london area, he had had the truck from been 2yr old , the freeway one was bought new from scania newcastle.

Hi Bubbs I remember seeing this motor (with jealous eyes :smiley: ) regularly in the 80s, I think the guy went on to replace it with a high cab Foden, have you a pic of said motor?..Don,t stop posting :smiley:

it was at wallsend mate but the company not their anymore they used to do gear for land drilling etc around about 1985ish

Right,heres some stuff going way back…these are from Commercial Motors that I didnt have the heart to cut up…they are all yellowing with age and the pics are fading away :frowning:

Hope these old cuttings are ok,

i got that 142 when freeway sold it to DMC freight at birtley it got painted in abbeywell mineral water colours from morpeth and i drove it for 3 year on that job,

Great pics again Bubbleman-the Dennis advert brings back memories,RJ Hewitt were fruit and veg merchants with a yard beside the A3 at Hurtmore south of Guildford-they also ran a Dennis Maxim artic in the late 60’s. Regards Tim
