It was in through Dock Gate 4 the old Eastern Docks where Townsend Thoresens and Normandy Ferries Terminals used to be, as opposed to the other docks westwards past Mayflower Park where the Castle Boats used to dock and then further west to the container teminals

Thanks v much - I didn’t come to work in Southampton until 2001, some time after the ferry days

I can remember Hinchcliffes getting a few of those 180 Gardner Dennis rigids,i think around 80-81,they were regulars at Trinity Paper Mills at Holcombe.I remember Richard Nuttalls in there too are they still around?
