Toddy2, I’m sure that ERF in Cherrys’ yard was M or N reg; I went in there a couple of times when it did have a plate on it. ADR might know as he’s friends with Roger Cherry.

I delivered to Timbmet’s yard near Oxford once. It was like a scene from Mad Max with all their cut down units.
Have you any yard pictures?

No pics but our contracting gang done a lot of work there about 9/10 years ago when new kilns were built. Timbmet have moved to the business park on the old airfield at Stanford in the Vale now and Oxford’s been sold for development; The yard at least, I’ve heard their offices are still there.

Kin ell done the same.
No cab, just a cage over the engine. Think it was old Mastiff units ?Wasnt their place on Botley hill?

I delivered there on Old ■■■■■■ Hill too Stupot, it amazed me how far they’ve cut some of their old units right down & still use them as shunters. It seemed as long as they had something to steer it with & could sit down they’d use them. The morning I was there it was very frosty & there were old shunter units ticking over all over the place in varying cut down states. Fair play to them though, they certainly had their moneys worh out of them.

Hi Muckaway,

you would be right at that - as the early ones had the low door handles, they were moved up higher on the P reg onwards models.
Mine is White now, but the door shuts are still in that red colour
