More of a scapyard memory this one. Anyone know who made this heavy underfloor engined vehicle. It has a 6 cylinder engine and had a British registration on the back.
F88 UAG 999R Restored
Bought new by Chantry Farms in Goole East Yorks 1977,put to work running vegetables to the London markets on a night, return loading from Bedfordshire each trip.
Sold through truck dealer to Danskin-Strathkinness in 1984 for use on general haulage and was driven by Mr P Mc Intyre until it was resold to Inta-Site haulage at Pollington Nr Goole in 1989,(He said best truck they had on the fleet)
Inta-Site used the truck delivering bricks and blocks through out the UK until it was retired to yard shunter in 1991 and from there it went down hill ending up on the scrapheap in 1999.
Bought by the Son of yorkyjoy in 2003 and he started the major restoration which (Done by him self apart from when three hands were needed) took six years finishing in May 2009 just in time for the Peterborough Truck Fest which it attended as it’s first road run, apart from the trip to Doncaster for it’s test,
Next trip out was the Croft Truck Fest at the end of May and after that it went to quite a few Vintage and Steam rallies ending up at the Great Dorset Steam Fair in September were it was the only F88 to be entered in over four hundred trucks so got alot of interest and a good revue.
Only photo we have of it in it’s working days is the Danskin picture so if any one out there has any pictures of it when it was at Chantry Farms or Inta-Site would love to hear from you please.
The truck is now painted in the colours of Mr Ken Parrott a local haulier and good friend (used to work for him in my younger days)
As found at Inta-Site yard
Donor unit for spares
Started stripping down.

Yup, it’s a Sentinel alright.
I bet the driver of the Bedford TK didnt walk away from that one.
Hi yorkyjoy, I have seen your 88 at Duncombe Park last year and what a stunning job you’ve done with it well done mate!
I drove an 88 for a week when I was at Flowers of York in the 70s and it was a hell of a motor, but the brakes were crap.
I see that your motor and my S20 Foden in Elliotts livery have pride of place in Stuarts cafe at the front of the counter in the Docklands Diner. Stuart is sick for a F10 but he wants one with the flat roof, bit of a tall order cos I think that they 've all gone except the preserved ones! Any way hope to see yer this season,
regards doublereduction.
Commercial motor even had jokes in it on occasions.

Hi John,
I got it out of a truck mag that was kicking about here, must have read the facts about it when I bought the mag,and the forgot them.
Cheers Dave.
While bubbleman is off line here is a photo of his truck that I took when I came across him delivering in Bath, must be over 15 years ago. You can see his feet under the taillift and his backside. He is impersonating the Stig on top gear.
Can anybody build a wind up internet connection device to get him back on line. You can get a wind up radio and torch and the wife can always be wound up so it should be possible.
44 years on tankers what is a rope.
A couple more for Marc’s reserve fund.
Would that underfloor engine be a Dennis? I can remember them on the road but the make I’m not sure of. 900X20.
