Thought I’d Post this, J.A.COLES Removals M.A.N’s at Slumberland Beds, Oldham. Cant remember but obviously old. Think i was about 10, so must be 14 years ago, With me dad we were doing the Scotch run (In the unit with the whire rental trailer). Dont suppose you have any D.J.JEAKINS, J.A.COLES or F.A.POPE, pics■■? got loads more old ones i can add, just need get a scanner.

Well done Bubbs, look forward to the next 50.

Hi Mark Congrats on the 50 pages.
Glad to see the pic of the 8 wheeled Foden with the artic trailer, do you remember the ones Harvey’s ran? I used to see them on the A36 going between Bristol and either Southampton or Portsmouth,I have been told since I was dreaming :smiling_imp:
Re- Robbo’s MAN , I don’t know who did the paint work, I always thought it was a bit OTT, He used to get very upset when some people (not me) called it ‘the flying circus’
Re- Bullens, they did do office and business removals. Knocker White from Sandford Nr. Winscombe (father of Ray White with the fridges from Kemble(?) ) claimed he did an Egypt for them in either the late 60’s or very early 70’s

Hello again, good pics from Bonkey…another Philmac motor coming up

Cheers Bubbs.

Great pic Marc, Philmac had plenty of variety in their vehicles back in the day; here’s a S80 Foden.

Hi Bonk, nice pic of the Foden…pity I chucked away the article that went with the Scammell, never thought it would be important when I cut the pic out all those years ago.

Bubbs.

No matter on the text mate, you saved the best pic - the illustration ! :sunglasses:

I (or me mum ) simply whizzed all the CM and Headlight magazines that a friend of me dad used to pass to him and then onto me.

I also remember her lobbing out a glorious catalogue printed in '81 (remember the date as it was stated within) from Tarmac Roadstone Holdings. I actually found it when I was riding shotgun in an ex Tarmac ergomatic cabbed AEC in 1982 in Tunstead quarry.
It was pride of me collection until me mum decided they were a fire hazard and they all went in the bin !

I remember that brochure had the lot : pics of Hoveringham vehicles, Tarmac, Butlers, Philmac, Kings and other less known contractor vehicles.

I’d kill to obtain it again ! :smiling_imp:
