I did miss one photo!
Some memories there in the BMC/LEYLAND pics, used to work on all those and the Guy Big J’s. Great memories of thrashing FG’s around the countryside in the '70’s! Lockhart Equipment in Reading used FG’s with the 3.4 diesel on the Scotland run and we were often rebuilding the engines!
Pete.
Cheers for the black and white pic of the Topcliffe Transport F10 (B232 RWX)back on page16 with the bulker on, my dad drove this from about 85 to 91.
From memory I think this was at some kind of promotional job for York Trailers. Although he usually pulled a bulker this was not the usual kind of job, had many a trip in this truck on school hols, don’t suppose there is a colour picture?
Well done Gazz, excellent stuff…youre gonna do me out of a job ,…Ok heres a pic l promised Wanchai spartan for his Topcliffe thread ages ago
Sorry it took so long to post the pic.
Cheers Marc.
Cheers for that, it’s taken in the yard at Melmerby near Ripon, looks like it’s fresh out of the paint shop.
Hello again…Mercs today fellas.
Hope these are of interest to someone.
Cheers Marc.
Hope you don’t mind me adding to your thread Bubbleman.
My Dad had one of these new in 1968 the year this one was taken KKV 40F,
my Dads was KKV 72G he also picked his trailer up from the Earls Court Motor Show that year, I still have a log of the trips I did from 67 through to70 and most of the Reg numbers sad eh!!!
The wording is not quite right, they could only carry 6 Jags (5 if they were MK10’s, 7 normal cars or 9 Minis, I also learn’t to drive it round the docks when I was 14.
Can I share the thread with you Marc■■? LOL!

Hope this ok JD.
Cheers Marc.
cheers marc. the yardleys pic’s are very rare.
My Dad used to be a day man for Yardleys down in London, it was all MK1 Atkis in those days though, did they have some of them early tri axles with the single 1000x20 tyres to get up to 32ton when the law changed, I have a hazy memory of my dad having one but it may have been for someone else

Marc,
Some info on this clip
The other salesman at our place used to be the sales manager at Rylands and sold this vehicle to Rob Smith (R W Smith - Smiths of Stoke)
just looked in his old sold vehicle log which has the chassis number listed - 40427
it was the 1st 250 on the road, the next chassis number and Reg No FFA 70 T was put on the road as Rylands demo.
Just had a look if there are any photos, but can’t find any.
Regards
Ant
Thanks for that Ant…l went to Rylands once years ago…took a pic of their wrecker.

What a great thread. Thanks . Its a shame all those Names that are no longer on the roads.
Heres a few pictures .
nice work johnny - do you know the “story” about the ZiL in your last photo? I know the bloke who supplied and still services those 2 trucks - if you have bought any broccoli from tescos it’s likely to have been in one of those trucks
Thanks to Johnny for the input there, some old Scanias today.
The last 4 pics were very small, lve tried to make them a bit bigger hence the bad quality, hope theyre ok.
Cheers Marc.
