Hiya,
Done a mile or two in one of these Larry dragging a trailer,
a big gun all over foreign lands, was just a young lad.

Are the Leylands the Albion descendants?

Not sure what you mean, Pete, but I reckon they are originally BMC cab designs, aren’t they?

Later, when Leyland took over, to be designated Redline.

Are the Leylands the Albion descendants?

Not sure what you mean, Pete, but I reckon they are originally BMC cab designs, aren’t they?

Later, when Leyland took over, to be designated Redline.

Not sure what Essexpete means but Larry’s two motors are the 4 wheel Clydesdale and the 6 wheel Reiver. The cab is the Leyland G Range.

In the 1970’s Leyland marketed the Redline and the Blueline.

The Redline had the G range cab and usually had Perkins engines in the 16 - 24 GVW range.

The Blueline included the Clydesdale 16 ton GVW and Reiver 24 ton GVW (basically an updated Albion with the G range cab) and were powered by variants of the Leyland 401 engine (turbocharged in the Reiver)

The Blueline also included the Hi Line ergo cabbed Bison, Octopus, Buffalo and Lynx usually with the 500 headless wonder or the L12.

The Bear was also in the range and had the Hi Line ergo cab but the turbo 401 engine

Just a brief potted history and I am sure someone somewhere with greater knowledge will have something different to add.
