I refer to this ERF that Bubbleman posted on here last Friday. Judging by the square logo
on the trailer, was RPC Containers part of the Reed Paper group ?. Click photo for full image.

Hi Bubbs,
Nice to see one of Kenny Graingers Commers, his yard and garage, all gone now, was a treasure trove of parts from truck spares to a brand new boxed headlamp for a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost! His relation Barry, restored a 1920’s Chevrolet in Graingers colours but I have not seen it about for 20+ years, Cheer’s Pete

Yes pete ,remember those Commers coming into GKN Wellington ,back in the day ,thank you Trevor

Hi Trevor,
Yes they worked out of GKN and did a lot of work for Chillington Tools who made wheelbarrows hence the Commers were all long wheelbase, Cheer’s Pete

Thanks Dean, Great article and it looks like it come off the road a year later.

An old work mate of mine is doing ‘clean up’ work, on Kangaroo Island, and stumbled across this old Bathgate cabbed Leyland on a farm. It was quite likely still in regular use on the farm before the fires.

Around a third of the Island was caught in the recent bush fires that hit many parts of Australia.

Cheers Keith

Hi again,good feedback lads…well done,heres a few more cuttings,Cheers Bubbs,

That’s a clever, if not exactly useful, trick of Collette’s Cometto, to reduce the overall height from 4.5m to 4.88m. :open_mouth:

Hiya again, heres a few cuttings to look at,Cheers Bubbs,

Nice photos Bubbs.I particularly like the photo of the two Leyland Beavers of John Summers, owners of the steelworks at Shotton Deeside. There was also a company called Deeside Transport in there that maybe belonged to them? I have loaded crude benzene out of there more times than I can remember, for Bitmac Scunthorpe and Llanwern.

Nice working pic of the Pickford’s Scammell.

Heres anoher one from 1963.
