Hi, Bubbs,
Can you, or anyone from your neck of the woods, remember the name of the livestock haulier from Temple Cloud?
Just one of those things from the dark recesses of what passes for a brain that I can’t get rid of!
There was a haulier on the main road at Temple Cloud called Minnal Brothers but I can only remember them with tippers.
Cheers Phil.
Sorry, Numbum, that’s not ringing any bells. Mind you, we are talking mid-1950s.
Here’s a couple of photo’s from my childhood my dad when he was alive worked for Redmires based in Wolsingham they owned a few quarries in Weardale and operated a mixture of tipper trucks to haul their products about these photo’s were taken by my dad in the mid 60’s, Redmires were taken over by Slaters Transport who in turn if I am correct became part of the Tilcon group. regards prattman.

May I join in the thank you’s for all your wonderful snippits Bubbleman - not been on here for a while but it’s always the scrapbook that gets the first look in

Poor girl. She’s trying to get the power steering oil off her shoe. Never known a motor like them early ones for bad seals. Jim.

Hiya lads, well well…1,000,000 views,I would have loved to have had enough cuttings to have seen it through to this point so well done to everyone who kept the thread going,as I pointed out in the early days the Scrapbook was created for everyones pictures and I just tried to gee it up with the old clippings.
The best thing for me is that the thread introduced me to a whole load of new mates and as Harry pointed out that throughout the years its been going the thread hasn’t drifted into bad postings, some light teasing and tormentingyes but that’s it.I wish I had more to offer on here but to be honest all that was left in the box of cuttings was all the crap and I ain’t putting that up.
Well done to all who have contributed…it wasn’t just me…long may it continue
Cheers Bubbs,
I’d like to add my congratulations on reaching a million views to this amazing thread Marus. I’ve spent many hours trawling through the many lovely photos posted on here & I’d like to join everyone else in thanking you for your efforts and hope you continue to post on here from your cuttings boxes, long may the tread continue to grace page one, it certainly deserves a place on the front page IMO.

Nice set of photos Paul, hope you’re well mate

The last of mine, I’m afraid… The second or third Truckfest South West we did - '91 or '92 I thinkLeft to right in the first pic…
The first ERF, converted in-house from a lwb box van. 180 ■■■■■■■
The six legger that I drove. Great drive ( Fuller 9 speed) and surprisingly comfortable but the MOST unreliable donkey I have ever driven
LOU - The first of two put on the road that year. She spent the first six months with no name on her because she was supplied as a ‘demonstrator’ for six months with the option to buy at the end - which was what happened, obviously
The baby! This was the first mount of F.G Bond’s grandson. Used for all sorts of little jobs - a useful little truck5
