At the moment i am undecided but leaning to the YES side at the moment.
Can I ask what part of the argument is making you want to vote yes as opposed to no?
One word CAMERON
Isn’t that cutting your nose off to spite your face?
No not at all Cameron and his ilk have no interest in Scotland neither has any other Westminster govt. So may be it wouldn’t be a bad move to go it alone. Devolution seems to be working ok.
And for what its worth i recon everyone in the UK should have a vote in this referendum as it effects everyone in the UK. I think Salmond missed a trick with this one. Most of the rest of the UK would vote to be shot of us at the drop of a hat.
Just out of curiosity ,
what In your opinion is Scotland going to cherry pick?
The coal industry=gone
The steel industry=gone
The oil industry=limited life
The shipping industry= massively in decline
The ship building industry=practily gone
but we have some lovely NUCLEAR SUBS,
am not political, and personaly can’t stand salmon, BUT a choice between him and those two public school boys in 10 downing St, who would you choose?

Scotland’s Shipbuilding industry has recently won the Navy contract for the next generation ships and maintenance! Also they are working on the 2 new aircraft carriers so soon as you all vote yes all that work will be moved back down to portsmouth.
Also when Germany fully closes down for the army and raf scotland is going to be gaining a few units moving up to bases up there which will also mean more jobs and improved local economy. None of that will happen if you vote yes it’ll come into england, wales and northern ireland.

They don`t seem to have much interest in England outside of London either
They seem to want independence but want us to leave all our army navy police airforce up there I can’t see all the free parking and prescriptions lasting once we stop chipping in

I’m undecided, I think it would be easier to stay together as there is a lot of cross border business and travel. However the in/out debate that goes on in the South East with regards to Europe has similar arguments to the Scottish in/out debate. To Europe David Cameron probably appears in the same light as Alex Salmond does to London.
Also condescending remarks along the lines of you’ll be bust, have no jobs, your not getting this, your not getting that, we’ll not speak to you again only makes folk more inclined say F it , we have more going for us than lots of small countries that manage ok.

I think you will find salmon is asking for a percentage of armed forces since we have paid in over the years. And if you look he’s also wanting to take a percentage of the National debt , so it’s fair both ways ,
Ps the police have been independent for years ,
Like been mentioned Cameron and Co isn’t interested in ANYONE out with the M25!
Just we have a chance to actually do something about it , next election (Uk) I really think he will be thrown out , although truth be told not sure I want labour in either it’s a whole new world out there in politics land

I can’t see we’re the income will come from I know the oil keeps being mentioned but what will happen to the benefits system pensions and stuff like that it all has to be paid for I’m in the north east so would prefer to stay together as we may as we’ll be in Scotland when it comes to the politicians
This goes much deeper than money, who pays more, who receives the most etc, it does’nt just come down to a submarine base here, an aircraft carrier there and a ready supply of high quality military recruits, this is part of our identity, this what makes us who we are.
Great Britain, The United Kingdom, call it what you will, is far greater than the sum of it’s parts.

The Scots would actually have less control of their future as an independent nation.
Salmond wants to keep the £ and the Queen. He wants to stay in NATO and the EU.
Effectively then his economy and constitution would still be controlled from Westminster, but there would be no Scottish MPs in Westminster.
At the moment there are more Scottish MPs per 10,000 head of population than there are English ones. Scottish MPs get to vote on matters such as law and education which concern England and wales only, but English and Welsh MPs do not get to vote on matters that concern Scotland only. Our current PM and his predecessor are both of Scottish descent. King James of Scotland traveled South to become King James I of England after the death of Elizabeth I. I’ve always struggled to work out whether England ruled Scotland or was it the other way around?
An independent Scotland would thus have less power over itself and less say internationally than it does now.
The only people I know who favour Scottish independence are arty and political types; working people and business people from Scotland regard it with horror. Whatever its attractions from an emotional point of view, it would be a practical disaster.

You don’t know many Scottish people then do you ?
In the central belt where i’m from i would say the vote is split down the middle with the NO vote just ahead.
Scots will not listen to westminster especially cameron and his cronies telling us to say NO . Scots will do the exact opposite
You are right…there aren’t may Scottish people in South Wales where I live, and I probably don’t know enough Scottish people to form a representative sample. The polls show the Nos still ahead, but the Yes gaining ground. I think Salmond is a very effective campaigner/political operator.
People in where I live in Wales seem indifferent to the Scottish issue…but when I go to England people seem to support Scottish independence, and that’s a polite way of putting it.
Since this all kicked off i’ve heard that piratebay has seen a massive increase in ‘Braveheart’ downloads.
None the less Scotland are a patriotic bunch and deserve the right to have their independance if thats what the majority want, yes it will need some help from Westminster to acheive and whether it will work only time will tell but I feel the its been too long coming. Just because we are connected by land does not give England ownership or the right to meddle in Scotlands affairs.
Some will say they haven’t the resources or intestinal fortitude to self govern but I would like to see them give it a go.
I’m still gutted about Robbie Burns betraying Mel Gibson though.
The NO campaign has to change their game because they are driving voters into salmonds sweaty hands without him having to do much at all. Even if they did do something different they also need someone that can stand toe to toe with salmond like him or loathe him, nobody can match him in a debate.
The no campaign is full of bleedin threats, spin it positive you bunch of wallopers nobody likes to be threatened.
Honestly i was 100% no, its in my DNA almost, its the way ive been brought up British rather than scottish. Serving the crown etc But recently ive started to think more and more about what if we took the punt, just what if. And its really all these people saying you can’t do this and you can’t do that makes you think ■■■■ the lot of yous
I’m undecided, where as a few months ago i was 100% no, thats how the campaign is going!
London thats who will be going independent! Do us all a favour get the eton nancy boys to ■■■■ and get some real men in to run the country.

As John O’Farrel said, that film couldn’t have been less historically accurate if it had been called “William Wallace & Gromit” and featured a small plasticine dog.
