just run the 1 truck now. Dad ran a scania 113 artic with a tipping trailer on tarmac before he retired. the unit is stll with us. Hasnt been on the road for 6 years.
Hi jonmea,
Thats a really nice truck, there are three Scania four wheelers this way with the five cylinder 310 engine, but they are in Tarmac colours, yours in yellow is much smarter.
Cheers Dave.
Here’s Les Jarrett’s jonmea, will try and find one of the others.
Here’s Mark Jone’s,he had the first 310 this way, about three years ago,its still smart.

Thanks Dave Not sure if Tarmac think the same. They have tried to get me to paint mine in tarmac colours. I work for Tarmac mostly hauling from Minffordd quarry.
Hi jonmea,
They make them paint them this way, would think you had the same boss of the region there, who was based where these operate from, and he insisted,or else, but he is going, trouble is so is the work. He wasn’t all bad. Got Mark’s posted now above.
Cheers Dave.

The reason i got away with it was I was the only 4 wheeler in the quarry. Minffordd has changed regions now. used to be Western Gordon Lambert was the transport manager and Tim Hall was a director. Now changed to Central. I dont know the bosses yet.
Mark’s lorry still looks good. I remember it new on the Scania stand at the Oswestry truck show.
Yes Tim was also the manager at Strinds/Dolyhir before he became a director and then regional boss.He also kept his eye on the lorries right up to his job finished recently. He was a hard bloke to deal with, but they are all wishing he was still the boss,he looked after these this way, thats where he started.
Gordon Lambert is in charge of transport western region, which includes these quarries.
