Hi, anyone having problems with the operating temperature on 4 series Scania’s all 4 of mine are running at only 60 degrees, but when pulling up hill across Belgium/Germany/Austria they come up to normal 80 drgrees, but as soon as you are back on the flat they go back down to 60.
We have never had this problem before, I have spoken to Scania and shown them one of the thermostats and they said thats the correct part.
Anyone else having problems with low engine temps ?

My 06 R Series 470 runs at about 70 degrees or thereabouts…see pic below
Its been like that since I bought it nearly 2 years ago and I havent had any problems with it running at that temp.

I dont know if this is any help, but i have just replaced mine, as the temp gauge wasnt even moving when i was empty, but running at bang on 80, perhaps your thermostats are on there way out?

I see on your dash that you are getting 11.64mpg what weight are you pulling and does it get any hotter pulling up hills ?
What do you think of the 470

Ok so i’m in a eight legger these days but mine only just gets off cold. New stat fitted end of last year, never moves from that even under load.
Hi, fitted new stats to all vehicles now running at 70 degrees.
