I have worked on quite a few Scammells over the years.RMC offered to sell me an 8 wheeler once! Ex Bristol fleet.Gardner/David Brown 6 speed Thanks but no thanks I remember taking one for test for a mate at Garrets Green in Birmingham.It failed because not enough guages in the dash!!! I took it back the next day and told the tester if he would care to call Scammell they would be able to explain,Result The lorry had been tested there for the last 4 years.I tried and failed to repair a gearbox which had a broken selector fork.It was one of those zf gate changes.
