“Never” is a long time.

It might not be tomorrow, but Id bet itll be nearer tomorrow than never.

Autonomous yard shunting trucks with a system that can robotically connect air/brake lines on trailers & container chassis & reverse trailers onto docks precisely autonomously :open_mouth:

Will they also have a system to take over yard shunter duties? An autonomous external sound system to communicate with visiting delivery drivers? “Oi Where dyou fink youre goin`”

No! It will mean we can all take our hiviz off! Because it will be irrelevant to whether the shunter can “see” us [emoji6]

I would bet two inches off my johnson that self driving trucks will never become a big thing in the UK.

(And I dont have two inches to lose)

I’m with you there, on both counts

So, a couple of battery trucks are going to trundle around pre programmed routes on a private dock, big deal, but for some leads them to imagining 5 minutes later these toys will be self driving around the back streets and lanes of the land, not a hope in hell.
