Tis witchcraft this interwebs thing, I’m still not sure it’s real. Welcome back all the same.

Thanks for that image, I’ve seen not that before. It looks to me that everything above the front wheel arch is all-new whereas the production cab carried on that square “threepeny-bit” windscreen design from the old 2600 - presumably it was cheaper(?)

Parkroyal……Nice one. I‘d hope to have see one on the occasions we went to the Locomotion show at Melun near Paris, but never did…looking at the state of them in the previous photos l posted I’m guessing not many made it to the show scene, could have been a bit of a rust
bucket ?…..Someone told me ( Froggy ? ) of one close-ish to me as I’ve never seen one for real, but I’ve not got to see it yet..

Froggy…

That’s a Renault R 206 dating from circa 1948. The guy doing the maintenance of a petrol pump;;; with his (probably lit) cigarette.

Nothing to do with lorries, but, Reminds me of Petrol /Smoking

It would be around 64 /65, working in a haulage garage in Sothampton. the girl serving the fuel came in the workshops to say a “foreign” lady was on the forecourt with a car that was smelling of petrol.

I went with the foreman and saw this fabulous car and even more stunning beautifully dressed older women ( she was about 30, but when you’re 17 anyone older that 25 was old ) she opened the boot to reveal the engine, I thought that was weird, and sure enough you could smell the fumes, The foreman was just like in that picture, filthy overalls, smoking a roll up, he asked her to start the car up to see where the leek was. Then she spoke in that beautiful French accent they have when they speak English that had me mesmerized and star struck,

“Excuse me monsieur should you be smoking”
Oh yes he said, I’m old enough“

Well you may be, but my car isnt”

Stunningly pretty with a great sense of humor….that was it. I was in love.

Still searching for her and her car !!….

Renault Floride for this car, and I’m sure you would recognise the lady at the first glance if you met her today.

And if ever you meet my wife (60, but looks 30), make sure you do not tell her all women over 25 look old.

Maybe best to make sure he never does, sounds like, like me, he appreciates older women.

Of course, in my case the older women are younger than me now.

Maybe you need a special permit as she’s a bit wide…

Meme a tois Dave, one day we will meet but more than likely if you wander this way rather than I head to Brittany, don’t stray far from the ranch these days.

This morning at the veg market a beautiful Spaniel sidled up to me and stayed while I waited in line (well not really in line, as you know, the French don’t do lines just speak up when it’s their turn but one chap who was there before me got it wrong and nominated me, didn’t have the heart to embarrass him so got served early :joy: ) and we really made friends with each other and I asked a bloke standing near if it was his, no he said and nodded towards a woman in conference nearby. She had a very wrinkly face, 70 something I guessed but to my aged eyes was very attractive. :joy: Shortly afterwards the bloke disappeared, with the dog  and put him into a car, but put his shopping bags in another car. I’m guessing the lady is not available.

Re the Garzotto Mack, an offset cab, what on earth was the point of that, why not just make it wider?
