I’m not sure, I was never into Macks, but it was an E7. That engine was highly respected, with the HP rating masking the engine’s true performance. The torque was phenomenal for the time at almost 1800 ft/lb

Interesting that it was only a 12L engine, considering the hp output, merci for the information.

Was this engine available on the EU market as well?

As Froggy pointed out, it was “only” a 12L engine, which surprised me, given the amount of hp it produced.

That last one of the batch, with the slightly raised roof, the best looking one IMHO.

It followed in the footsteps of the 237 Maxidyne, which developed the same torque as the larger, 855 cu" Cummins 335hp.
Spardo may have had one in his turd hurder.

I’m a steersman not a mechano, all I need to know about what’s underneath me (or alongside me in the old days), is will it do the job. In the NT, somebody mentioned B61 Thermodyne and that was all I needed to know.

In France I do know that my Magnum had a Renault badge on the front and not a Mack one so I assumed it wasn’t the biggest/most powerful option. Mind you I suspect that some drivers thought sticking Mack on the front was all you had to do.

When I got here my mantra was:

and I did. :joy:

Everything you need to know about the Magnum, in French, of course: Renault AE/Magnum — Wikipédia

And here are the specifications of the Mack E7 engine, the output of which was upgreded to 480 bhp on some trucks.

FAP (ex-Yugoslavia), produced under Saurer license, with a Saurer cab.

Latil, Gardner powered.

Here’s the picture!

I like that cab, even RH drive(?), plenty of space but oh those mirrors that we all had to put up with back in the day. I had some not much bigger than that on my old Albion and I even bought my own and fitted them. Wasn’t happy with the weak little tootoot horn either and took a pair off a Standard Vanguard with a proper blaring sound. No idea why they worked, perhaps the Albion was 12 volt(?) no idea and it didn’t trouble me because they worked and I was King of the Road. :joy:

Fiat NC 180.

Such a common sight in the northern mountains back in the day, RHD for safety alongside sheer rock faces or precipices.

Maybe some problems due to your firewall?

I recognise part of your problem but not with TN. Some time ago I began to lose all my messages on Facebook but only with certain contacts, at the same time I lost the ability to make and receive video calls. The reason, according to Meta was my use of Firefox. At first it was just foreign correspondants but now has expanded to French ones as well. I came upon a Meta forum and there were loads of people complaining about the same thing.

Sorry I can’t help with your problem, and mine as well.
