Two old girls that look like they could pull a house down stood still…

The firts is a Berlilet GBM 10b registered early 1956; an impressive and massive truck. Second is a Bernard with a special aluminium body; one only was built. Very interesting pictures indeed!

A few 88 / 89s from around Europe…

Hey,

This two have still the Volvo Portugal cab, left is an F86 with 88 cab.
For a short time even the F10/12 was built with a Volvo Portugal cab.

Eric,

Hello Eric…never knew that, an F86 with an F88 cab…amazing, thanks for that.

Great to see so much interest in them, and some great info too…makes posting the pics worth while when you get those knowledgeable people on board to comment.

PS. Dave Junior has a pair of Swiss F89 four wheelers and a F89 6X4 tractor unit…and an F88 unit as well if I remember…

The interior of the Portugese F 86 with 3 places; as the TD 70 engine was lower than the TD 100.

The bonneted range had also a Portugese own-built cab from Auto-Sueco near Porto. It was more angular and had a split windscreen.

There don’t seem to be many pics around of this Berliet model:

Looks like a Belgian Sitra frigo outfit. The dog-leg road across the bridge look familiar: it wouldn’t be the first river crossing after leaving Irun for Pamplona at the bottom of the gorge would it?

Probably a 950 KBT from the mid-'70s.

The Mack FT 700 was quite popular at a time. Transports Borca of Cormeilles en Parisis, which previously operated only Bernard trucks, switched on to Macks when Bernard ceased production in 1967. They were reputed uncomfortable but very reliable.

And in Holland too: Vlatrex and Bloem spring to mind; both on M/E work. HG Brown in UK. And of course OTS on M/E work.

Berliet GR 190 with sleeper cab in contract with GEFCO ( groupage express de Franche Comté). Original colour from factory.

Hey Robert,
It is a Belgique Sitra truck but I think the picture was taken on the old road down from the Fréjus tunnel on the french side, you crossed the river a few times in those days.

Ah! That makes sense.

PS. I didn’t know Sitra had a depot in Kinshasa! :open_mouth:

Time for a mystery-truck?

Attached picture shows a truck with registration H for province South-Holland…so issued before 1932.

On the radiator some text is hard to read…same for the emblem on the top near the filler-cap.

Any ideas?

Happy Sunday, A-J

Amazing whats hidden behind houses in France

The 89 is beyond repair cab wise, another cab perhaps ? but if not, a lot of spare parts.

For those interested in heavy haulage
