Until the 1950s, many French trucks were built with RHD. Probably to keep a good eye on the road embankment, what was certainly more important than overtaking slow vehicles!
In the 50th, Latil and also Saurer-France still built lorries with RHD. One example with this H12BT10T Latil.

Berliet with sleepercab, looks quite nice in my humble opinion. This sleeper-cabbed Berliet belonged to Koops from Bunschoten who were early active in
international transport. Today Koops (together with Overdorp from IJmuiden) belongs to
the Wolter Koops-group. Koops also did many runs to/from the M-E with DAF 2800. The
trailer on the picture is a DAF, probably type TAL (air-suspension) but without goose-neck.
Is that the Wolter Koops that’s into refrigerated transport? Is there a link between them?

The cab is nicely designed and looks carefully built. Suze is still one of my favourite “apéritifs”, together with single malt Scotch whisky or Irish whiskey. Not often though.
Suze… never heard of it… is it like a Ricard?
Anyone ever heard of Isotta before?

Looks great! Any ideas about what sort of engine (and it’s output) was fitted under the bonnet?
A 9,3 litre (114 x 152) six cylinder diesel, in fact an rebored upgrading of the Gardner 6 LW with an output of 150 bhp at 2100 rpm.

Isotta-Fraschini was initially an Italian car and truck manufacturer, but this truck was built in their Brazilian factory.
The Brazilian factories seemed fairly self-sufficient:
Somewhere in Spain, a Barreiros truck (later Dodge), fitted with a Berliet Relaxe cab. The car is a Simca 1000; they were very popular, but always looked miserable to me.
Launched in1959, the " Relaxe " cab was a big improvement with its clear view and silent inside. Here a GAK 5 from 1961.

The graveyard
Dont know how old those pics are but that F88 does not look too bad.
Latil timber tractor.
In 1963, the bonneted 5 cylinders GLR received the “Relaxe” cab as the 4 cylinders GLC ,later in 1964 the 6 cylinders GLM also .
Interesting to see that the Relaxe cab was available in 3 versions: narrow, bonneted narrow, and wide. I wonder why the wide version was never fitted on the long-distance bonneted trucks such as the GLM 10/12, at a time when bonneted trucks were still very often used on long distance transport. It would have offered more space to the driver.
Yes, GLM 10 and 12 received the ‘Relaxe’ cab but from 1964, here one wood haulage GLM 12 with 240 hp.

Test picture, new Linux system
Seems to have worked! Nice old (licence-built?) Berliet. I always thought those old Berliets were as tough as old nails.

They were, and when you see one in real life you can see why, solid as a rock, like all the old stuff, made to last.
Never heard of Milsa before. According to the usual sources, Sava assembled 12 litre Berliets for a short period. I know nothing…
