I’ve had a Tom Tom 6000 for about 4 years. It’s extremely slow, laggy and occasionally crashes for no apparent reason. Route planning to destinations that are in weight limits such as building sites is laughable, it seems to think only the first few yards are a limit so will try and send you down a very unsuitable street or lane then join the weight limited road further along lol. Also, why don’t they show what the bridge height or weight limit is on the screen like my old snooper used to do?
The 2 things positive I can say is the mag mount and the traffic services are very good.
I bought a snooper s2000 way back in about 2005ish and it was brilliant so I’d look at snoopers. Only issue is, I don’t think they have traffic information still….or do they now?
Work will buy me another if my current Tom Tom packs in completely, is the 6250 significantly better than the 6000?

The new TOM TOM Luke C reviewed looks huge.

Speedwise the 6200 and 6250 are way ahead. Non of that lagging waiting for the screen to change. Just tell them it won’t charge or the maps aren’t updateable.

Only thing with the 6250 is it updates via wifi not plugging into the computer which is alright as long as you have WiFi available. Takes a little while to update the maps.

Mine does still occasionally crash and reboot, but cured most of those by buying a better quality USB gizmo and new cable. Seems it doesn’t like power dropping too much.

The 7.5T thing still happens sometimes as thd maps are the same across all of them I think and yeah it is odd hpw it sometimes onlyngives a short bit. The later one does seem to route into 7.5T zones if the destination is inside, but will warn you.

No idea on bridge heights showing - would be nice must admit unless they worry it will cluter the screen. That’s one thing I didn’t like about Garmin, they seemed more cluttered, but everyone prefers different.

If you think that is huge try the garmin lgv1000 or in America it’s called the OTR1000

Does anybody have or use Waze ? Keep hearing it advertised . There claiming to have upto date traffic and roadworks info etc.
Just wondered what it’s like compared to Google if anyone uses it

Yep…

I use Waze. I believe it’s all based on Google maps but, I prefer the graphics. Used with a 10 inch screen on a tablet it’s a nice clear picture. We run pretty much the same routes so I only really have it for traffic hold ups and it’s spot on for that.
