What’s your point exactly, because we all know that would never happen.
I said that the two offences, one of which was a serious fault justified the operation.

As for VOSA or whatever, I know the driver attitude goes a long way to determine how they deal with you, I also know they tend to prioritise on non UK firms, and in a lot of cases quite rightly so.
A few years ago I was pulled most weeks.(ooer Mrs  ) and I noticed that if they could not find anything instead of looking satisfied, they looked genuinely miffed, so then the pedantics came out until they did find something, that was when my attitude changed, and is what my opinions on this are based on.

, pulling a trailer that looked older than me, and more clapped out than Robroy

Yeh but you LOOK older than me, …and anyway I am still well in my prime

that’s about correct…throw the beancounters a bone and let them go away happy before they keep digging and find something else…leaving my abs lead out works wonders for getting a prohibition, then the reease form 2 mins leater…they go away justifying their job without digging too much…happy days all round…

Still at it today (Mon 1/8) at Sandbach.

That’s not allowed any more [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

image.jpegHere’s one I spotted earlier (well last week) :unamused:

Only time I’ve ever been pulled over for a check was on to Sandbach. The officer seemed like a sound bloke and we got on fine. I made sure I passed the attitude test.

He thought I was over weight and to be honest, it did look like I was. I knew I wasn’t but the unit did sit quite low on the drive axle. I saw the same unit a few days later being driven by a colleague and it did look overloaded.

He had a quick look around the vehicle and within 10 minutes I was on my way.

The real Biffo:
Sandbach operation …100 stopped 145 offences 50 tickets issued 17 vehicles prohibited 3 seized and £12,250 in fines and penalties
9:32 AM - 1 Aug 2016

145 offences out of 100 vehicles? Ok, right.
Were they offences that were particularly and potentially dangerous, or a zero tolerance policy for minor offences that were once over just dealt with as a warning.

12 grand raised…, can’ t help but take the cynical view that it was more revenue orientated done under the guise of safety.
But hey, that’s just me.

Dont come back with the inevitable ‘‘Well, would you rather…etc etc’’ .(fill in the blank with whatever potential rta disaster you can think of :unamused: ) cos the answer is No I would not, but it does not stop me looking for a hidden true financial agenda which is usually the case in anything like this.

Spot on!!
