The monkeys:
I know it is generally down to personal choice, but can anyone recommend a pair of boots (they need to cover the ankle).
Company will pay £20 towards the cost, and I am happy to put another £20 ish towards them.
Usually wear safety shoes, but need boots for a specific site.
Your best bet is to go somewhere like Arco, you can sit and try out to your hearts content to make sure they feel right.
There was a topic on this not long ago, someone will put the link up for you.
Not being funny but £40 boots will be crap, your feet are worth more than that, you only get the one pair and they have to last you for life.
Most comfy boots you will ever wear are DeWalt Challenger, circa £70+ and they won’t split or leak, even the laces will normally last the life of the boot.

Sorry if its not what you want to spend.
The only reason I thought of the price bracket is because it is only the one site (and they don’t even allow you out of vehicle while being loaded). But they will check on entry that you have a pair on.

So, let me get this right…
You need safety boots to sit in the cab whilst they unload you.
WTF is wrong with this country!
All our works issued boots are about the £40 price range and are okay and fine to drive the wagon in or work in the workshop or warehouse, but I will be buggered if I can drive my car in them
When I worked (or occasionally now help out) in the workshop and warehouse the acid from batteries eats our boots and they are lucky to last between 6 to 12 months, so I stick to issued boots, that said I think our place bung you £40 towards new boots per year if you want to buy your own.
I have had 3 pair in 18 months.

Yep, including hard hat, safety glasses, hi viz trousers and long sleeved hi viz top.
The only places you are allowed out of vehicle are to undo curtains and get paperwork, and that is on the roadway in the site, not the shed they load you in.
Builders merchants have decent boots.
Wickes.
Travis Perkins.
Or Dickies safety wear.
Screwfix.
TH White ltd.
Shoezone;do not bother.
Brantano ;do not bother.

Went to sports direct for mine when i was doing agency work, £35 for decent quality boots, and i have had expensive boots previously, and not always better! They do a wide variety and half sizes too
