having done skips i would have refused to lift that, over height and the motor is leaning to the n/s. the company i worked for would have brought another skip out and made the hirer restack or if they refused tip the lot out on site again
That doesnāt look like such a bad load, Iāve seen loads that are so much worse becuase people just throw more on top, not thinking about what happens to it when the skip is moving. Bits of metal sticking out like that are probably why there arenāt more skip wagons with autosheets. Leaning usually indicates that either the driver has neglected to get the puncture(s) fixed or the suspensionās on itās way to collapse
I was making a delivery to a private house and sat and watched a skip driver doing a collection. The small skip had been extended by standing doors up along the sides; then the builders had carefully stacked broken slabs in it right up to the top of the doors.
The skip driver tried to pick it up but his front wheels just went up in the air. Then he put his legs down at the back and tried again. With a bit of a struggle the skip went up and he set off with his back springs right down on the buffers. God knows what weight was in the thing but I bet it was at least twice what it should have been.
It begs the question of why did he do it. If he had made them unload it they would have had to pay for another skip - so why?

Surely the skip drivers licence and the safety of everyone else maybe the reason why?
