Thats a reet tidy shot of the Foden and it’s nicely sheeted and roped although it dosen’t look like it has a heavy load on board, probably a flyer for the night trunk ! Oh! and those yellow things look suspiciously like Sun Flowers to me.Cheers Dennis.
Yep good sheeting nice around the head board ,good twisting up,dollies maybe gone around twice as big loops,if done single with a load you could flick the out, but not with twice around the hitch,as you all would know …rope, probably good old hemp none of your synthetic stuff, good for the cuts in your hands, even us down south would not use gloves…hands like feet, gnarled and black. the garden looks good this time of the year,i thought you chased away the tinkers…

You big ■■■■■ Dennis
Hiya,
I once drove something years ago with a Viking Bostrom drivers seat fitted as standard
but for the life in me I can’t remember what the motor was, it was nice and comfy.
thanks harry, long retired.
Mr Bewick i bet when you were a kid you were the one who flicked the ears of the boy in front, you have flicked mine lol…I AM left hander AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN,yes you are right all knots are done in a different but the same way.knots, rope, wire splicing is my thing…blocks and tackle, rigs ,not trucks, however i am amphiodexdrus ,guessed at the spelling,i am able to use a hammer or saw ,screwdriver, not writing ,we have our uses ,also the computer mouse left side…with equal required use., and a ■■■ and pint with equal gus-to…
In my day we had a wooden seat with a rolled-up blanket on it!
Then we had the Mk3 AEC seats that had loose squabs which detached themselves from the frame if you wriggled too much. And those of us who had a rural upbringing will remember the Fordson seats mounted on a length of spring steel- if you hit a bump too fast you were in danger of being launched over the rear of the tractor! I’m so glad that I didn’t have to put up with air suspended, heated and fully adjustable seats like those poor, modern-day drivers have to use.
YES tractors seat were the best the mccormack international was class version of the fordson red not grey, but a nice cold steel ,about them .It is said that these ear -youngsters have to put up with all round windows and a speaking dashboard…and they even get to sit in the dry, when there is all this fresh air about i dont know how they stand it,i would call the tolly-puddle union…
Come the revolution (don’t tell Bewick we’re organising one, funded by the Hauliers’ Training Levy) one of the first jobs will be to make REAL men again by throwing away all those silly, non-essential bits of rubbish like cabs, seats, windscreens, etc.
And we will be going back to platform trailers, sisal ropes and double-duck sheets.
