From memory the favourite trailer for Paddy outfits was a 40ft tandem axle ISO box, then it was a case of “bang it in” heavy on top of lights ! nowt fell off those trailers even when they were upside down on a roundabout

Come on Dan’l one of your “handkerchiefs” wouldn’t cover the three rolled up sheets we used on a flat ! Cheers Dennis.
you can’t beat a bit of plastic and some tape
I remember my dad roping and sheeting loads of stinking fish in boxes and in the sort of weather we endured in the north of Scotland. That tainted my opinion on the subject and I thought the introduction of the Taughtliner and tilt trailers would have been welcome to all on haulage. Looking at those pictures that Dennis and others supply changes my view entirely. They make the statement - “I know what I am doing. I am safe, proffessional and care about my job” Not something that springs to mind when you follow a curtain-sider with the side distorted by corners on the hidden load. Jim.
There a few drivers who don’t even do the buckles up properly on tautliners or stop the ends flapping about

Why does the 112 look so much better than the 113?

Because the 112 has the taller ‘R’ cab and the 113 has the squatter ‘P’ cab in that picture . Robert

Ah, thanks Robert!
Could you kindly desist from posting these photos Dennis , I come over all tired just looking at them . The thought of chucking those sheets up on top makes the old ticker palpitate . Dave
