ROO120W scania 111

Sir +:
What about the Mk2 RS2000 with Recaro fishnets

Doyle’s RS2000 never had fishnet Recaros it had roll top Scheel seats and also a very rare tilt/slide sunroof The 3.0S capris used in some of the later episodes did have them as well as the two X-pack capris used in the final episodes.

Back on topic and yes *OO registrations were definitely from Essex.

Cheers
Neif

The Harrier and the 2.0S Capris had the fishnet Recaros though.

?OO and ?NO were Essex registrations Archie, Harris Daf and Lancaster Mercedes, also out of Purfleet used the same last two letters

If you watch the sweeney and profesonals a lot of the cars used have ■■■ and PNO and UOO reg numbers. All fords as Ford suplied lots of cars to Thames TV and they would be Essex reg numbers.

They would actually be Boreham cars which were prepared for the TV companies, some of the most famous Ford Escorts carried the OO registrations as the Ford Rally Team were based there in their greatest ever days.

Roger Albert Clark lent his initials to Britains premier rally series. :stuck_out_tongue:

Of course FEV 1H was famous too.

Was that a GT40 Malc?

I had ■■■ 504 R for a while in the late 80’s , what a machine  , never driven by Roger Clark though . Mikkola , Vatanen , Waldegard , Brookes and Sir Jackie Stewart had the controls during her many guises . Anorak off , back on topic chaps

All Chelmsford registered OO.EV.VW.WC.JN.VX.AR. I had quite a few of them I should imagine the two Ronnies Smith and Day
when they were at Scantruck had lots of these registered as well as Alan Jarvis at Harris Commercials.

Felgates Barking had a “ROO” think it was an M reg and allocated to Kenny Hilsbury, my dad was there and he had a 110 “JLL ■■? K” and a 111 “DEV 181 T”

Was used first I believe by a couple of journalists for the World Cup Rally in 1970 if I remember right. I know it was rebuilt with a 1850 cc Engine in 1993 for Hannu Mikkola and Gunnar Palm to compete in the London Mexico Rally, which they won. Been rebuilt a few times since but I am sure that it is still the original Bodyshell. You will always see the car if you go to AVO days and events.

when i worked for roy bradford running turkey, we had a 3 x ROO…106, 108, cant remember the other one, but they were all left hookers, and all 141`s

Those body’s on the Escorts built by David Sutton went on and on , I used to own UMP 6 F which was a David Sutton built car (for Ford ) and which was built and used as a recky car for the World Cup Rally. It ended its days when I rolled it off a mountain on the RAC Rally.

I had WOO 704S Scania 111 LHD used to belong to Expo-Freight before I drove it.

Ever so slightly off topic but I drove a 6x2 (rear lift axle) Scania 82 registration A162 TOO supplied by Scantruck but based in Derbyshire for Oerlikon Welding.
