Mr Main had to cling to the moving car for 100 metres…

Sounds to me like Mr Main was the main aggressor in all of this. After all, you don’t often find yourself clinging to a Ford Focus out of self defence do you? The other bloke might have been a bit mouthy, but it was Mr Main who decided to make it physical.

No sympathy from me.

Please tell me this was posted to only wind people up!

Absolutely not.

There’s a big gap in Mr Main’s story; the bit where he goes from reversing his abnormal load to clinging onto a moving car. What happened during those seconds in between?

Like I said, you don’t often find yourself clinging to a moving car out of self defence, do you?

All we have is Mr Main’s side of the story and that’s obviously going to be spun completely in his favour. I’m sure if the young Asian man gave his account, we’d hear a very different story indeed.

But who do we believe? The white lorry driver or the Asian man? One of our brethren or the man with brown skin?

It’s evident how the vast majority of TruckNet users would answer that question and I suppose that’s to be expected; it ain’t exactly a hotbed of intellectual thinkers here, is it?

I prefer to keep an open mind though and not take the word of one lorry driver as the absolute truth.

please say the above post is a wind up :smiling_imp: typical pc tree hugging brigade the man maybe got out to explain what he was doing :open_mouth:

Maybe… but that doesn’t explain why he “had to cling to the moving car for 100 metres”, does it?

All political correctness aside

The person who does that regardless to a man of his age, deserves their knee cap’s chiselled.

good advice

Natural instinct to cling onto something that’s going for you.
And also I bet it was no where near 100 meters, more like 20.

At the end of the day you got a bloke at work trying to reverse his truck and a member of the general public in a car that has to wait… Who do you honestly believe got the hump?

Needle and haystack springs to mind,

That’s like describing the assailant as cockney and living in London

In what way is that keeping an open mind :unamused:

Welcome to 2013, hold up someone for 0.000000000001milliseconds and you risk the death sentence.
How come these folk that are in a rush never run but always walk when they get out of their vehicles?

Both.

The Asian man got a bit mouthy. The lorry driver went to teach him a lesson.

Could be.

Or… Asian man starts beeping and shouting, lorry driver now with his vehicle in a position that can only carry on his reversing manoeuvre gets out to explain that the idiot has driven right up to his truck and for the situation to be resolved the car driver would have to reverse, at which point the Asian man starts being aggressive and drives his car at truck driver.

We will all never know, just sit here discussing pointless scenarios.

But we all know it was the car drivers fault.

he had gone up to the driver of the dark-coloured Ford Focus because he could hear the man “ranting and raving like a lunatic”.

Bad decision IMO but that does not excuse what the car driver did

I don’t know why people put themselves in this position. I never get out of lorry, and usually don’t even acknowledge them. Its not worth it. Just carry on and let them get on with their angry lives. Although I can see both views put on this thread, I’ve no idea or opinion on which is right but many truck drivers aren’t always the calm rational ones in road rage incidents.
