I’m 57. Not driven in about 15 years, although it was my job once, many years ago.
I was furloughed from my regular job at the start of the pandemic.
I did an online CPC.
I did a 4 hour class 1 refresher course at a local training school.
I signed up with an agency and worked for a year on nights, trunking up to Fradley.
I was a bit cautious for a couple of weeks but it all comes back straight away really.
It was figuring out manual entries that I struggled with the most…and remembering to take the tacho card out at the end of a shift. I’d only used an electronic tacho a couple of times, last time I drove.
I had to invest about 500 pounds to get going again but I worked every day for a year, so it was well worth it.
You’ll be fine. I almost enjoyed it.
