This is not like the mythical Big J fitted with a 240 Gardner Brian. I will post the pictures shortly,
Ive been busy this last couple of days, us OAP’s have a lot to fit into our days, I don’t know how
I found the time to work all those years.  :unamused: :unamused: Regards Kev.

Join the club Kev, Im becoming a veteran sadley to say, I get up AM, go for the morning doom & gloom papers & return home & have my full English, & Think to myself About my life in the Haulage Game, I enjoyed all of it but having said that Im bloody glad to be out of it, When I read the Commercial Motor Etc, It must be the hardest industry to be in to make a ■■■■■■■ living they way things are to-day, The rules & Regs plus HAS Is a setback before you get out of bed, They are trying to ■■■■ the haulage industry well & truly, This is my summing up of what is happening to-day, Regards Larry, ( PS & Im not ■■■■■■ when I stated this, But Im going to have a few large malts this very minute) So good night to all of you, Regards Larry.

I like your sentiments Larry. I too have had a few JDs and am about to retire (to bed) I am 67 in a couple of weeks and still working 2 days a week. It seems as if I am afraid to call it a day. I have a couple of classic cars that I keep in good order and take them to shows. I have tried to play golf but I have had to rename it f—k it instead of golf.
Well done all you old boys who are pursuing interests in later life. Keep active and keep your brain in gear.

Well Carlc, Its nice to hear from someone who shares my interests, I to have a classic, A 1971 MGB.GT Not the best mind you but I do enjoy taking it out for a spin, But of course that’s when my system is Malt Free, But I most certainly enjoy both, I still do a bit two or three days a week, Just to to keep my active, Im nearing 79 so I have to be very careful If you know what I mean, Hick, Hick, Regards Larry.

Now then Cliff, ditch the 2 days a week, retire like wot a lot of us old lads have done, you won’t regret it. Me? after a lifetime on the road I am now a man of leisure and part time gigolo. You say you’ve got a couple of classics, there you are, a ready made leisure activity. We all (I think) enjoyed our life on the road, sure, there were good days and there were bad days, but it’s all changed now, it’s not like it was when you got your notes and “give us a ring when you’re tipped”. Those days are gone and they’ll never come back.

Only joking Kev, to do something like that you deserve our admiration, I know I wouldn’t have the bottle to attempt it. Well done lad.
.

P.S. Love the shorts…■■■■ as hell. :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously, we have a fella here whose done something he can be proud of, yesterday I had reason to get down on my hands and knees to do a bit of a job on the car, I couldn’t get back up. :open_mouth: Arthritis is a terrible thing. Puts Kevs achievement into perspective. I couldn’t ride the bike to the bottom of the street.

Sorry Brian, the Mr Cynical comment wasn’t meant for you   (but if the cap fits■■?) :imp: :imp: It was meant for my young? friend 8lxbv8brian. He likes nowt better than to wind people up :unamused: :unamused: I’ve known him since he first came into Waugh’s yard aged about 12 and he’s never really grown up!!! One of his pranks as a young apprentice was a classic.
I kept some tins of soup and other foods in a box under the the passenger seat of the 1418, after it had been serviced i set off “down the road”. Looking for something to eat I pulled the box out, ALL the efin tins were painted deep red!!! I didn’t know what I was opening   . Another trick of his was to weld steel toecaps on boots together with a piece of bar, he would do this sometimes when he was working in the pit to anyone who happened to stop near him and had their attention distracted by one of the other mad barstewards who worked in the garage. Happy days    Regards Kev. Ps thanks for the comment on the shorts. :sunglasses: :sunglasses:
