Just read a Tanzanian is suing H.M Government for £11million because they have made him unhappy seems our disintegrating road network could have led to your premature retirement due to the pain caused to your body by a rought ride seems reasonable to me…got to be worth £20 million…now find a no win no fee lawyer…the disintegrating road network should be right outside your lawyers office…go for it.
Hi all.Maybe it’s something that happens when you get old,[if your lucky enough to have no debts]but after moving up here i decided to work less and enjoy my free time more.last year i worked 5months in total, 7days working,7days free. This year i have only worked 1 week each month, and i don’t miss the long distance at all anymore[i drive a tipper in a mine].I took a vacuum truck to Danmark for a mate in March and was surprised just how little i wanted to drive ,just looked forward to coming home and going out in the forest with my quad
.I can now really relate to anyone who is fortunate enough to stop driving a bit early[while we still have a bit of health left].Good luck Blunderman, you are welcome for a beer anytime, only it’s a bit of a hike, sorry.

I retired at the end of February, did a bit of holiday relief and then some agency work, ( I did not like this at all). Started a full time job at the beginning of June. Regards Kevmac47.
Put your feet up, relax, enjoy, you’ve earned it and all the best to you
Hey BlunderMan.
Sit back and relax. You’ve done your time… let someone else take over, and hopefully they will do as great a job as you have done.
Respect to you mate.
Hi all.Kevmac 47.I think it is different for each of us.As i said in my post i have no debts which are an important factor in my decision to work less.I live in a cottage in a village of 5 houses with the forest all around and a river running past 50m from my house. If i work 1week each month i bank £1000.Ican live comfortably on this so,after nearly 40 yrs of driving around Europe,M.E.,U.S.S.R.,and Canada i have now decided to spend my free time[while i am still able] fishing, quad racing, skiing, snowmobiling and reading all the books that i never before had time to read.We can all do a bit extra if we want later for a bit of money or to fill up time.
But… Look around. How many of our mates have worked all the hours in the day right up until the last moment…then dropped down dead.Never having had the chance to enjoy any of the fruits of their labours.Sad aint it.take care Mike
We have a fella on here in the same boat. He’s almost 60 and his mortgage is almost paid up. He has a job lined up driving a parts van as he says the only difference in wage is his mortgage. He’s going as soon as the final payment leaves his account
