Rest before driving?

  1. Within each period of 24 hours after the end of the previous daily rest period or weekly rest period a driver shall have taken a new daily rest period.

Does the bit in blue refer to a DAILY rest period that was taken on the last EU regs driving day ?

Does it say that or are you once again adding in stuff that isn’t there?

A driver wants to do a days work driving under EU regs, now what does he need in order to begin a 24-hour period, and therefore his shift?

Could someone please wake me at page three

Enough REST … BING!! … light bulb comes on… as that makes sense for safety.

I wonder how VOSA would check that is the case at a 0800 roadside check on monday …
Work in a non driving job during the week prior to driving with the last shift ending on Sunday at 2300
Start driving under EU regs om Monday at 0100
No records need for the week previous to driving…
With there not being a requirement for pre driving rest records then how do VOSA check■■?

Safety or not it is simply an obvious requirement of the EU rega.

You can only provide them with the things you are legally required to do, if they suspect something or choose not to believe you it is up to them to investigate further.

Right, I’m going to work now, back Tuesday so see you on page 3 Tachograph. :stuck_out_tongue:
