Removing eminox baffles

Hiya… getting back to bikes now…on a manx Norton (500cc single) the exhaust is about 30 inches long with a open megaphone(very noisy)to produce maximum performance. after many trials there was a similar type of exhaust
that gave a little more power. that was 32 feet 6 inches(about 10 meters, long) not suitable for a motorbike.
it show,s how important a simple exhaust can be
John

Loud zausts are alright on trucks as long as you’ve got a switch, there’s a time & a place preferably in a tunnel not a truck park. They’re lame on cars though.

this is another of my fizzys .

Very nice Jakey ,I had the RD50 After the fs1e black /white and chrome also rd80lc and rd80 with others ,as for noisy exhaust it would be cheaper to buy a pa speaker and cb to tell people you’ve got twin stacks or a V8 or a look at me complex !

Years ago my cousin had an Austin 7 sports car (think it was a Chummy). anyway, it had a normal exhaust, but a little lever in the footwell when pulled would divert the exhaust to straight through…didn’t go any faster, just a lot of racket…perhaps he could do that… :unamused:

Years later I had a V8 Mustang, was going to fit sidewinders until l tried one with them fitted…did your head in after ten minutes…

Think the O.P. should really consider what he’s doing, they sound good when it’s someone else’s, but living with it all day, every day ?
.

Really cant understand why people cant just NOT reply if they havent got anything constructive to say! If you dont like straight thru pipes, fair enough but dont go slagging someone off because they asked a question. GROW UP

well that was my first and last post on here just another waste of time site for know it alls to post on. it was just a simple question but got shot down by fellow drivers oh well

Yep, that’ll be Trucknet then.
Its about as easy going here as a nuclear war mate.

the most are clearly just grumpy old drivers i didnt ask what does everyone think about straight through exhausts and they wonder why sites like this get a bad name

Not your last post then …
It doesn’t matter, mate. Everywhere you ask for advice and opinions, be it in the pub, on the internet or at the churchgoers’ coffee morning, some will offer helpful advice and agree with you, some will disagree with you and some will just start talking about themselves. It’s not about this forum, or drivers, or anything other than Human Nature. The trick is not to let it bother you.
Personally, I didn’t think there was much to get upset about here.

Toughen up dude if you’re going to post on here, some people will agree with you, some won’t that’s life.

Noisy exhausts are for 16 yr olds on FS1E s your supposed to move on after that .

some had FS1E"s with YB100 engines in em aswell :grimacing: and home fabricated race pipe :grimacing: :grimacing: even far superior to a Ap50 with a little 60 kit on it

not when you put the A100 engine in the AP  ,all fizzy,s could see were a tail light

Lighten up, man. It’s no wonder you’re flouncing off if you take offence at stuff like that. How do you survive the real world on a daily basis?

I apologise if I offended you with my post.
You did indeed ask a simple question, and I hoped that my reply, (along with a few others) might lead you to reconsider the removal of the baffles.

Once knocked, you cannot put them back, as I said, hearing someone else’s truck with through exhaust does sound great, but could you drive, day in and day out with the noise ? Have you either driven, or been passenger in a truck with straight throughs ?

Just to let you know I’m not against them, I have a Triumph Sprint Bike. I have 2 exhaust cans which can be changed over within a few minutes, so I can chop and change. One can has no baffles, great for a couple of hours blast, the other is the original. There is no way I could go touring with the through can on it, it would do my head in, a few hours is enough…

So again, apologies for any offence caused, it was certainly not intended…

yes i have had my v8 with a straight through since i got it with a diverter valve to a side pipe and love it its rarely on the silencer but i want to put a stock silencer on so its really quiet for in the morning and at night and i would rather have twin straight through stacks but didnt want to spend alot of money so i dont care if the baffles are removed completly as i can just flick the switch and have it quiet
