Red Lorries

Why didn’t Irlams continue with the Red Lorries business

Is it because they got bought by Stobarts

Well that ended quickly

The mormons didn’t want any competition for Stobarts.

They got refused an O licence for technical reasons, something to do with an advert not being placed prior to the application being made.

They never appealed and decided now isn’t the right time.

Info from Commercial Motor mag.

There used to be an Irlams place on the way to between Knutsford and Macclesfield, that’s a Stobart place now.

Sorry, irritates me just like when people say ‘tescos’, there’s no S at the end:lol:

Was all a bit weird if you ask me.

One of the biggest mistakes a rich man can make is to believe that he’ll go on being a rich man.

That’ll be Chelford then where Irlams head office was.

How is that a mistake? It’s more or less factual I think, money makes money hence the rich always getting richer…

I mean some of these business men who have been successful in the past think they can’t fail & lose loads of money on new ventures.

I knew of a bloke who made 5 million odd selling a website, he lost 2 million odd trying to set up another.

Just because Irlam was successful in the past does not mean he’ll be successful again.
