The best one I heard was a few years back, and I have only just remembered it. I’ve never heard it before or since, neither has anyone else, so you’ve gotta give the guy ten out of ten for originality.
He said that truck tyres are only able to run for 4 and a half hours before they blow, and that’s why tacho rules are just so, and the 45 minute break isn’t for drivers, it’s how long tyres need to cool down before before they are safe again.
Kinda blows double manning out the water then doesn’t it?
Did anyone miss getting on the Costa Concordia.
Plenty missed the Herald of Free Enterprise by two minutes.
My favourite was the British drivers boasting how they pinned five French Gendarmes against the trailer. And gave them a good bashing and remove their guns.
Ched:
“You can’t run a fridge motor in a pay to stay truck stop, drive. If you don’t turn it off someone will turn it off for you”
He turns my fridge off and ill cut his throat !
Really boils my ■■■■ people who think its their god given right to interfere with someone else’s business / property.

You test for radiation with a Geiger counter.
You test the hot air in the RDC waiting room with one of these meters…

It’s not just in RDC’s, our CPC trainer went into BS mode and at the end of a 10 minute speech he actually said " and if you believe that BS you’ll believe anything ". I think the crapometer FINAL began to register with him…we can but hope
How much is the fine now for not winding up the trailer legs, i have heard it has increased and penalty points on the licence for each turn of the handle.?
When i was on containers, i was running out of time, so rang the gaffer and said can’t get back tonight. “don’t worry” he said, “driving round the docks doesn’t count as driving time, so you’ll be ok”
Just been browsing on youtube and was watching something about the Herald of Free Enterprise.
Amazingly, or not, someone has actually posted a comment about how they had a puncture on the way so missed it by minutes.
Made me laugh anyway.
If you start a journey with a bulb out V.O.S.A can plug a lap top into your truck and see if the fault was there before you started your journey, then issue you with a fixed penalty.

This technically CAN occur, Does it happen? Probably not but I wouldn’t take it as complete BS.
Put it this way, if you had a serious accident with injuries (ie. Head on) and you had no lights on one side of the vehicle then the fault codes would be read by the accident investigators.
